Mrs. Naz Juman, the Founder of Schinder Law Firm, was a featured speaker at a workshop which presented an overview of various Indonesian business sectors, hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and Ernst & Young Indonesia on June 08, 2017. The workshop was held at Ernst & Young Indonesia’s offices at the Indonesia Stock Exchange building, Tower 2, 7thFloor.
Mrs. Naz discussed key points of the Indonesian Company Law. This workshop mainly focused on the interests of Chinese subsidiaries operating in Indonesia. The workshop was conducted in Mandarin and addressed current tax and legal issues faced by Chinese expatriates. During the workshop, Ms. Elly Dojenaidi, a partner at Ernst & Young Indonesia, presented an overview of Indonesian tax regulations concerning VAT and individual income tax. Subsequently, Mrs. Naz elaborated on key points of the Indonesian Company Law concerning the duties and rights of the Board of Directors, Board of Commisioners and the General Meeting of Shareholders.
During the Question and Answer period, we noted that many Chinese investors in Indonesia were still unaware of the basics of the Company Law, which was evidenced by some of the questions that were brought up by the participants on technical issues, such as legal action, prior establishment, General Meetings of Shareholders. Direct legal advice was provided during the session on such matters.
