Naz Schinder Addresses Energy and Mining Downstream Development Dialogue Forum Convened by the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia

The Energy and Mining Downstream Development Dialogue Forum, convened by the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and hosted by its New Energy Industry Committee, brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, and representatives from Indonesian and Chinese institutions to examine Indonesia’s downstream development agenda in the energy and mining sectors. Presidential Special Envoy Hashim Djojohadikusumo attended the forum, underscoring the strategic importance of downstream development within Indonesia’s national policy framework. The forum was held at the Gerbera Ballroom, Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, on 27 November 2025.

Naz Schinder was invited to speak at the forum, contributing professional legal perspectives grounded in practical experience within the sector. Her remarks focused on the application of Indonesian regulatory frameworks and key compliance issues facing energy and mining projects, highlighting the importance of legal clarity, disciplined regulatory engagement, and alignment with national policy objectives. She emphasised how structured compliance approaches can support sustainable project implementation and investor confidence.

Additional remarks were delivered by H.E. Wang Lutong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Indonesia, Darmawan Prasodjo, President Director of PLN, and the Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, reflecting the breadth of institutional and industry participation.

The forum served as a structured platform for dialogue on investment frameworks, industrial supply chains, and policy direction. Discussions addressed market scale, growth prospects, key market participants, government support measures, and strategic investment considerations, supported by the examination of representative industry case studies.

Through continued engagement in such forums, Schinder continues to strengthen Indonesia–China cooperation across strategic sectors, supporting legal clarity for Chinese enterprises operating in Indonesia and contributing to the steady implementation of projects and deeper regional strategic alignment.
