The Energy and Mining Downstream Development Dialogue Forum, convened by the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and hosted by its New Energy Industry Committee, brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, and representatives from Indonesian and Chinese institutions to examine Indonesia’s downstream development agenda in the energy and mining sectors. Presidential Special Envoy Hashim Djojohadikusumo attended the forum, underscoring the strategic importance of downstream development within Indonesia’s national policy framework. The forum was held at the Gerbera Ballroom, Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, on 27 November 2025.
Naz Schinder was invited to speak at the forum, contributing professional legal perspectives grounded in practical experience within the sector. Her remarks focused on the application of Indonesian regulatory frameworks and key compliance issues facing energy and mining projects, highlighting the importance of legal clarity, disciplined regulatory engagement, and alignment with national policy objectives. She emphasised how structured compliance approaches can support sustainable project implementation and investor confidence.
Additional remarks were delivered by H.E. Wang Lutong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Indonesia, Darmawan Prasodjo, President Director of PLN, and the Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, reflecting the breadth of institutional and industry participation.
