Role Overview
The Senior Finance, Accounting & Tax Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting management decisions and ensuring that Schinder Group’s internal finance, accounting and tax functions operate effectively and in compliance with Indonesian requirements.
This role manages day-to-day financial operations, accounting records, tax administration, cash-flow monitoring, accounts receivable, budgeting and management reporting.
The successful candidate must combine technical competence with accuracy, confidentiality, sound judgment and a strong sense of ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily finance, accounting and tax operations of Schinder Group.
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in the Firm’s approved accounting system, including Accurate Software.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Manage the general ledger and ensure that transactions are recorded, classified and reconciled correctly.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts and financial projections.
- Monitor accounts receivable, client billing, payment collection and outstanding balances.
- Coordinate accounts payable, expense records, payment documentation and approval processes.
- Perform bank, ledger, tax and other required financial reconciliations.
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls, accounting procedures and supporting documentation.
- Prepare financial analyses and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Manage the Firm’s Indonesian tax administration, calculations, filings, payments and supporting records.
- Monitor relevant developments in Indonesian accounting and tax requirements and advise management on necessary actions.
- Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisers, auditors, banks and relevant authorities when authorised.
- Support annual audits and ensure that requested records and explanations are complete and available.
- Maintain accurate records of Firm assets, liabilities, income, expenses and financial commitments.
- Identify financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, overdue receivables and compliance risks and report them promptly to management.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of financial, employee, client and Firm information.
- Perform other finance, accounting and tax responsibilities reasonably assigned by management.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Fiscal Administration or another relevant field.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in finance, accounting and Indonesian taxation.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian accounting practices, tax compliance and local tax-filing systems.
- Proven ability to prepare financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
- Experience using Accurate Software or another recognised accounting system.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger management, reconciliations, accounts receivable and internal financial controls.
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Strong analytical, numerical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and consistency.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with appropriate accountability.
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to management and non-finance colleagues.
- Experience in a professional-services, law, accounting, tax or consulting firm is an advantage.
- Indonesian tax certification, including Brevet certification, is an advantage.
