Role Overview
Junior Associates support the firm’s lawyers in conducting legal research, preparing documents and completing assigned workstreams across corporate, transactional, regulatory and dispute-related matters.
This role is intended for law graduates and early-career lawyers who want to build a strong foundation in Indonesian business law while developing practical judgment, professional discipline and client-service skills.
Junior Associates work under the supervision of Associates, Senior Associates and Partners and are expected to take increasing ownership of their work as their capability and experience develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on Indonesian laws, regulations, court decisions and regulatory developments.
- Prepare initial drafts of legal memoranda, agreements, correspondence, due diligence reports, regulatory submissions and other legal documents.
- Review documents and information to identify relevant legal, regulatory and factual issues.
- Support corporate transactions, foreign investment matters, licensing processes, projects and dispute-resolution matters.
- Assist with legal due diligence, document review, transaction checklists and matter-management records.
- Support communications and coordination with clients, counterparties, external advisers and relevant authorities under appropriate supervision.
- Attend client meetings, negotiations, hearings or other professional activities when assigned and prepare accurate notes and follow-up actions.
- Maintain organised, complete and confidential physical and electronic matter files.
- Complete assigned work accurately and within the required deadlines.
- Participate in internal training, legal knowledge development and professional-development activities.
- Seek guidance when an issue is unclear and promptly report material risks, errors or delays to the supervising lawyer.
- Demonstrate integrity, accountability, curiosity and ownership in all assigned work.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable university.
- Up to two years of relevant experience. Strong fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Good understanding of the fundamentals of Indonesian law and legal research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Good legal drafting, analytical and problem-solving potential.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to organise documents and information accurately.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow instructions and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to receive feedback, learn continuously and take responsibility for professional development.
- High ethical standards and respect for client confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and multilingual professional environment.

Junior Associates receive practical experience, supervision and professional-development opportunities designed to strengthen their legal knowledge, drafting ability, commercial understanding and professional judgment.
Junior Associates who consistently demonstrate technical growth, reliability, ownership, sound judgment and readiness for greater responsibility may be considered for progression to Associate.
Progression is based on sustained performance and capability, not solely on length of service.
